Eighty-seven year old left hander Randy Johnson left today's game against the 'Stros with a shoulder injury. Hopefully Randy doesn't find out what I said and "show me what he's really like"
I have no idea, weather Randy's injury is serious or not, we will learn that tomorrow (monday), I am hopful he will shut down until after the all star game missing only one turn. The Giants have lot's of pitching, including 2 future stars in the minors, Tim Alderson and Madison Bumgardner, Randy is only a stop gap to get us to the stars of tomorrow...
Look he, 'Satchel' Paige, Ryan and Clemens are the exceptions not the rule, look at: Dean Chance, Sandy Koufax, J.R Richard, Nick Neugebauer , Steve Dalkowski, Jim Maloney, 'Smoky' Joe Wood, Johnny Van Der Meer, Vida Blue, Rob Dibble, Dick Radatz, Mark Wohlers, Iron Mike Hannrahan, 'Sudden' Sam McDowell, Herb Score, Rob Nen, Ryne Duran Dizzy and Daffy Dean as the rule for pitchers who throw harder than hard, in the 100 mph. range they often don't usually have great productivity in their late 30's and 40's. Some who did like Frank Tanana had ro remake themselves as pitchers as they lost velocity.

At least he got his 300 before he went down with his yearly ''injury''. this is something we should be used to with aging, veteran pitchers; flashes of thier old form coupled with regular stints on the injured list. I applaud the guy for still doing what he loves despite being totally rich and being assured of a spot in the hall of fame! Take your rest big dog and we'll see you in a week or two!
