After being cut from the Devils in October, Shanahan announced today that he is officially retiring from hockey. He ranks 11th on the career goals list with 656 and is theonly player with 600 goals and 2000 penalty minutes. He is most known for the three Cups he won in Detroit. Good luck with your future, Brendan.

0	I think the Red Wings should retire Shanahan's #14. The Wings won 3 Stanley Cups while Shanahan was on the team, and Brendan was as big a reason for those Cups as any one else.
