In what will come as absolutely no surprise to anyone, Coach Jim Zorn has been fired by the Washington Redskins.

With a 12-20 record over his two seasons with the team, the firing is, without doubt, cause for cheer among Redskins fans and the members of the team themselves.

You might remember all the dissension in the locker room earlier in the year, which did not help matters.  Sherm Lewis was brought in earlier as an offensive consultant and he was quickly promoted to play caller, over Zorn.  It seemed everyone wanted to get their two cents into the mix, including owner, Dan Snyder.

Rumored to be Zorn's replacement is former Denver Broncos coach, Mike Shanahan, and his salary is rumored to be, well, exhorbitant.

Unfortunately, this will make seven coaches at the helm since Snyder took over ownership of the team in 1999.  When even former winning coach, Joe Gibbs, couldn't get results when he returned, perhaps the problem lies in a different direction, than with the coaching.  If Shanahan does come on board, and doesn't succeed, Snyder will need to do some serious inner reflection.
