One of the great things about Fan IQ is the opportunity to get acquainted with people you would never have met otherwise. For me, one of these people was Joe Faust, AKA Lefty12272003. Most of you probably have no idea whom he was because he was not very active commenting in the bars although he did bet on games quite a bit. We got acquainted when the Phillies and the Cardinals met in the baseball playoffs last year. After the series, we started chatting and betting each other more and more. We even got to the point of talking to each other on the phone.
Joe passed away yesterday (March 12) at the age of 77. I chatted online with him on Friday. He was in the hospital with problems breathing, but he seemed to be in good spirits and certainly feeling good enough to be on his laptop.
For an old man (LOL), he was very knowledgeable about a wide variety of sports. Looking back at it now, it is good that he got to see his Cardinals win a World Series and work the Super Bowl as an usher.
Although I knew Joe just for a short period of time, it was fun getting to know him and I will never forget him. RIP my friend.
