The closing deal was worth 845 Million Dollars to the Tribute Co for the Chicago Cubs. Tim Rickets whom is 44, will serve as the board chairman. He quotes, "My family and I are thrilled that this day has finally come and we thank [Major League Baseball] Commissioner Bud Selig and Major League Baseball owners for approving our ownership," Tom Ricketts said in a statement. "Now we will go to work building the championship tradition that all Cubs fans so richly deserve.

5	Now that the Cubs have got new owners, the Cubs are in good shape money-wise. The Cubs are a big market team, and will spend some money. I'm not worried. I welcome the Ricketts with open arms.

3	all of us fans seem to feel the same i see. spend that money. at the same time please invest a little more in the farm leagues , we need to keep this momentum going for years. buy now, invest for later. GO CUBBIES!

We do not need a bought team. Yankees and Red sox are bought teams. I believe they do need to invest more in the farm teams. Chicago has great players, but I think they lose momentum when they bring in the rookies that are signing outrageous contracts. We need to keep our seasoned players and treat them with respect as well.
