Roger Goodell likely to suspend Plaxico Burress and Michael Vick for a long time
According to several sources, Goodell is going to suspend the hell out of Plaxico and Vick.
According to three different sources, Roger Goodell is going to lower the boom on Plaxico Burress and Michael Vick.

Apparently both guys think they'll be all right - since Vick has served his time, and Plaxico could be found innocent in the court of law - but that doesn't matter to Goodell.

How long do you think he'll suspend them for?

Vick may get another year, and Plaxico doesn't really have any prior arrests/criminal record but I think he gets 8 games.  I wouldn't be surprised if Vick didn't play in the NFL ever again, but Goodell also needs to show that time served in the joint and everything that was taken away (or that Vick lost) factors into his decision-making as well.  But no doubt an example will be made of both men, and Stallworth also has another thing coming too.

I'm going to voice what Plaxico's lawyer has said since day 1: "There is no victim here (except for Plax's leg)." Vick's case? Um, slightly different.

Goodell is a complete joke.  Vick has more than paid his debt to society.  If a team wants to take the PR hit and risk with Vick, then let them.  It will be either their loss or gain.  As of right now, he has absolutely nothing to suspend Burress for.  Goodell once again is taking the easy route out by saying "Eff you guys, you're on your own", instead of actually trying to help and rehabilitate these guys when they find themselves in trouble even though he's more than willing to market the hell out of these guys during the good times.
BINGO! The owners should stand up Herr Fuhr- uh Czar Goodell and tell him to start worrying about things like lifting non-sellout blackouts in this tough economy and planning the game's growth long term and let THEM worry about their employees and prospective employees.

I feel they should have panel of people instead of 1 person, cause 1 person can most definitely abuse the power

I couldn't agree more with everyone.  Goodell needs to relax.  There aren't as many vigilantes calling for their heads as he thinks.

Papa Goodell needs to worry about taking care of football stuff (for example, the suckiness/douchebaggery of some of the referees) and let the legal system take care of legal stuff.  Vick went to jail for damn near 2 years and became more broke than me.  Plaxico shot himself in the leg and in the process made himself look like a dumbass. He could face some years in jail as well. They've either punished themselves or the system has punished them enough. Goodell needs a quarter to buy a clue.

I am going to say this is an Atlanta fan who was burned by Michael Vick, and tired of his act well before he was caught.

He served his time, and deserves to have a chance to play. He's missed 2 years of football, and I think suspending him any further is just piling on needlessly. I don't like Vick, and I am glad he is gone, but still he deserves a chance to play if a team is willing to take the risk. The guy is flat broke, spent 1.5 years in jail, and is humbled about as much as someone can be. What more can suspending him further do?

As far as Plaxico, I agree, his crime was stupidity. There was no victim, and personally, anything more than a few weeks of suspension seems excessive,

I don't want to see Vick ever play in the NFL, he can play football other leagues arounf the world, the talent could be spread anyways.... plaxico, C'mon how embarassing was his situation anyways...giants already handled his suspension and released him accordingly ... i think he could be suspended for a few, but Mike should be out 4ever
