Roger Goodell says Michael Vick must show true remorse to get back into the NFL
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell says he won't reinstate Michael Vick until he shows genuine remorse, puppy dog eyes.
Roger Goodell says that Michael Vick will have to show true remorse in order to return to the NFL.

"Michael did an egregious thing. He has paid a very significant price for that. If he's learned from that and is prepared to live a different life, I think the general public is forgiving on that when people are genuine and they show remorse and are prepared to live a different life," he said. "That's something he has to prove to myself and the general public."

Sounds to me like we'll see Vick playing again. After all, he'll sure fill stadiums.

Roger Goodell just fined you $30,000 for that comment and has suspended you from commenting for one year.

He has nothing to prove to me.  He messed up and went to jail for it, not to mention bankrupted as well.  Sounds like his life is pretty messed up already and I'm pretty sure that PETA and the media will not be forgiving, even if Goodell and the fans are.

not just remorse, genuine remorse.  well, thanks for clearing that up, because the press conference where vick mocks peta in the nude, drowns a sack full of kittens and announces he is opening a chain of cock-fighting rings in the dominican would have been a hoot.

Man, what I would have paid to see that.

The amount of people who want to crucify this man is amazing. It goes against some very fundamental rights as Americans- No double jeopardy. The man is paying his debt to society. Just because you didn't play football doesn't mean he "blew his chance".  Pro Sports is a privilege indeed, but you still had to work hard to get there. So if he has the desire, and a team has a desire, he has the right to go back to work.

Absolutely. Who the hell does Goodell think he is, the friggin pope? He's the NFL commissioner, he has no right to tell a guy who has already paid his penalty under the law that he somehow has to pay an additional penalty above and beyond what the law requires.
