Roger Goodell says that an uncapped year will happen

It has been assumed for a while, but now Roger Goodell is basically admitting that an uncapped season in 2010 is extremely likely.

"The real core message here is that we all want to get a fair agreement, for the players, for the owners, to allow the game to continue to grow. There are conversations going on, that’s a positive step. But we’re all frustrated there’s not more progress. It’s looking virtually certain we’ll get to that point [of having an uncapped season in 2010]."

This will be an interesting can of worms for the NFL, and it could definitely change the league forever. We'll see if they can get the salary cap back eventually, or if parity in the NFL is dead forever.
