Romo shows for Dallas, Dawson skips on the Browns

Tony Romo has been playing golf, and playing it well.  In fact, he has been playing well enough to be elegible for open qualifying for the next PGA Tournament.  He even had a tee time.

However, Romo says football is what he really loves to play, so he was on the field with the rest of his teammates for the first practice of the year.

Browns' kicker, Phil Dawson however, was once again a no show.  He is in the final year of his current contract and has been asking for a new contract for some time.  He also skipped voluntary practices last year.

Prima dona Albert Haynesworth has also been conspicuous in his absence from Redskins' practices, instead working out near his home.  He is protesting the changes the new defensive co-ordinator, Jim Haslett, has incorporated.   Speculation is rampant that Haynesworth may be traded to the Minnesota Vikings.

Brian Cushing, the Texans Linebacker who tested positive for performance enhancing drugs, was also on the field with his team, even though he will be sitting out the first four games of the season.

And if there wasn't enough strain at times between the US and Canada, Canadian doctor, Anthony Galea, has been charged with supplying illegal performance enhancing drugs to NFL players.  The drugs included HGH and although he isonly named in regard to NFL players, his name is not uncommon, having been linked to athletes in other sports.
