Romo's bobble gives new life to K-ball debate
1/10/07

8 years ago the NFL institued a new policy for the balls used during kickoffs, punts and field goals. Before every game 8 brand new balls are delieverd directly to the officials from Wilson and marked with a K. They are then put in a bag and subbed in during kicks. Well apparently kickers, punters and holders have been complaining about these balls for some time to no avail. They say the balls are too slippery because they are brand new and the teams can't do much to break them in. They apparently have been blaming fumbled snaps and bad kicks on them for years. I have never heard of this and I don't think that many other people have, but apparently Tony Romo's fumble at the end of the Cowboys-Seahawks divisional game is bringing new fire to the debate.

Didn't Tony Romo play that game with gloves?  I can't remember.  I know he practiced all week with gloves on.
