Roy Halladay traded to the Phillies, Cliff Lee to the Mariners in 3-way deal

Everything that Ruben Amaro has done so far as the Phillies GM has come up roses, so far be it from me to question him. However, I'm going to do it anyway.

According to Ken Rosenthal, the Phillies have agreed to a 3-team deal that would send Roy Halladay to the Phillies, Cliff Lee to the Mariners, and presumably a crapload of prospects to the Blue Jays.

If I'm a Phillies fan, I'd be a little perplexed at this one. Halladay is a year older, not necessarily any better than Lee, and will probably command a few more dollars in a potential extension. Also, he has zero postseason experience, and the Phillies probably had to part with Lee AND some prospects to land Halladay.

This one doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but like I said... Amaro has made some pretty shrewd moves lately, and perhaps the question marks about Lee's willingness to sign a long-term extension played a role in this one.

We'll see who "won" the deal, once we see who the Phillies and Mariners parted with, in terms of prospects.
