Running back battles to watch during training camp
Give me the damn ball! Running back battles to watch during training camp
Ready for some football? Then you look at your calendar and realize it's early June? Fret not football fanatics. There is more to discuss about the NFL than the Brett Favre watch currently underway in Hattiesburg, Mississippi or whether Michael Vick lands a job with an NFL team or a Dairy Queen near you.

To rescue you from Favre reflux we bring you the ThunderingBlurb's analysis of some of the more interesting running back battles to watch in July and August. Who do you like to come out on top In Carolina, DeAngelo Williams or Jonathan Stewart? Will Willis McGahee ever be healthy again? Is it possible Denver finally has a go to back in Knowshon Moreno? Share your thoughts below.

Stick with running. That passing thing didn't work out so well. Delhomme completed very accurate passes to the defense. And what will yall do about yall's POP (Pissed Off Peppers)?

There are no true battles anymore with that runningback by committee sh*tty fad.  Destroyer of fantasy leagues everywhere....

Here's my prediction: Ray Rice wins the Baltimore job. Willis does have the fire to be a #1, but I think his injury past will lead to Rice making his statement as a #1 back.

NE will run a committee in every sense.

I like Pierre Thomas in New Orleans, but Mike Bell may steal goalline carries. I'm not a believer that Bush can last 16.

I will be interested to see how Baltimore handles their situation....Le'Ron McClain looked good last year but I wonder if it was a flash in the pan.

something else that will be interesting is the Cowboys backup race - now that the NFL really has moved to a two back system - I want to know how they will handle Choice and Felix Jones. Choice did a great job last season after Felix got hurt.

DeAngelo Williams and Stewart battle was going on at this point last year too, but half way through the season Williams took the job, and the battle was over. And he is still on top, only way Stewart can come infront of him is if Williams has a major fall or injury. But nevertheless, they will always be a great tandem and between them there isn't really a battle, they just like to compete and are great friends

Very true. Williams has established himself as the #1 back in Carolina.

I think the Cowboys have a VERY interesting battle going on. Any of the three could be the starter. This is how I think it will turn out: Starter: T. Choice.....and the Felix will gash them in the third and Barber will bruise them in the 4th.

You got me there. But we did make the playoffs with Delhomme didn't we, and he just messed up real bad in that game. Peppers is pissed off and I cant say anything about that yet, until a final decision is made, so no comment on that

how about the battle in San Diego?
With the now somewhat injury prone LaDainian Tomlinson and then Darren Sproles

Frank Gore obviously has the job in SF, but with the niners spending a 3rd round draft choice on a RB there may be something to watch there in SF now too.

I only care about certain backs outside of Fantasy Football... J Lew (Cle) WB (Philly) Fast Willie (Pitt) Grant (GB) well I do have a man crush on Slaton and anyone from THE U but I'm not worried about u bishes.

PS.  Big ups to Marcellus Wiley saying McNabb will get a title in Philly.

Our O should be even better, even though we have been ranked in the top 5 the last 3 seasons. Twice being #1 overall. We finally will have a D to complement our O.
