Running back battles to watch during training camp: Part 2.
Give me the damn ball! Running back battles to watch during training camp: Part 2.
Welcome to Part 2 of the ThunderingBlurb's running back battles to watch. On deck are New Orleans, Jacksonville, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Seattle.

Here are some of the key questions: Can Maurice Jones-Drew carry the load for a full season as a featured back? Is this the year Reggie Bush breaks out? Or will he lose goal-line touches to Pierre Thomas? Who will back up the brittle Brian Westbrook and will they have an impact this season? Frank Gore wore down last season; what will the Niners do to preserve him this time around? Will anyone step up as a credible threat from the backfield in Seattle?

If the Saints offense is injury free, Reggie Bush will have a big year, just not against the panthers
If BUSH stays injury free, BUSH will have a good year.

Niners spent a 3rd round draft pick on a RB, so clearly they are looking to get Gore some help. I just wish they'd have addressed the O-Line more, that is really what would have helped Gore. That and a QB that can throw the ball might take some pressure off Gore.

It won't make a difference, Saints will just throw for 300 yards in the 4th qtr again to beat the Panthers. This time we have a D to compliment the O :)

Yeah most likely but with Shockey and other offensive players healthy it'll only make it harder for Defenses to stop any aspect of the offense

yeah, yea, yeah.  But too bad we still won, cause Malcolm Jenkins is also gonna get burnt and steve smith will always win the jump ball :)

Maurice Jones Drew has  better upside than all of them to have  better season with more touches. He's like a power back version of Barry Sanders.

Smith hasn't really hurt the Saints that much. The Saints always have problems with over-the-hill wide receivers (ex. Joey Galloway), so I'm more worried about Moose

OK lets see..  Jones-Drew  first  three years  2,500 years  rushing(Never  been over 1,000)....  Sanders  first three years  4,322 rushing and 42  touchdowns(Sanders when for over 1,000 his first three  years)....  Tad short on the compairson of the  two  backs.

Those backs never had the likes of a Drew Brees as their QB. Ya feel me?

You're CRAZY!! He will gain plenty of overall yards out of the backfield.
