SEC may actually be weaker this year than in years past

The Wiz of Odds provides some compelling information that suggests that perhaps the SEC isn't the outstanding conference that everyone believes it to be, but instead that it's merely the product of the hype that seems to build around it every year. Sure, Florida and Alabama are very good. But beyond that, we don't really know.

Auburn was undefeated, but then got blown out by Arkansas, their first somewhat legitimate opponent. Ole Miss appears to have been a fraud, and LSU's offense is embarrassingly bad. Vanderbilt got upset by Army, and Georgia lost to Oklahoma State.

So... what we're looking at is Florida, Alabama, and then a bunch of teams that are anywhere from pretty bad to pretty good, but not great.

How's that any different from the Pac 10, Big 12, ACC or even the Big 10?
