The Buffalo Sabres snapped a 10 game losing streak Friday night to the Atlanta Thrashers, winning 10-1. The losing streak is the longest in the NHL this season.
Buffalo got out to an early 4-0 lead in the first, and were still pouring it on late in the third period. Winger Drew Stafford and Center Derek Roy each recorded hat tricks.
Garnet Exelby and Eric Boulton of Atlanta took offense to the beating they were being given, as both men combined for 41 PIM all occuring 12:49 into the third period. Johan Hecht was the only Buffalo player to receive a penalty during the altercation, receiving two minutes.
