NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has made his ruling on Saints coach Sean Payton's suspension, and determined that it will be upheld and he will serve the entire season.

Also, Goodell upheld the suspensions on GM Mickey Loomis and assistant head coach Joe Vitt.

Vitt and Loomis could see a reduction in their financial penalty if they “embrace the opportunity and participate in a constructive way,” which likely means giving talks condemning bounty programs and player violence. They were not fined, but they are suspended without pay. Apparently, if they behave in a manner satisfactory to Goodell, he'll change that to a partially paid suspension.

Also, up to 27 players are under scrutiny from Goodell and could face various levels of punishment. There's a chance that some players could be suspended, which could impact teams throughout the league.

Obviously the Saints could be affected by player suspensions, but there are also former Saints players who signed elsewhere in free agency who could still receive punishment from Goodell.

We'll keep you updated if and when more BountyGate news becomes known.
