Seattle linebacker Aaron Curry leaves Houston with a hip pointer
Seahawks fans drew a collective gasp when the #4 draft pick, Aaron Curry, lay face-down on the field toward the end of Sunday's debacle in Houston. Curry didn't even appear conscious at first, indicating the possibility of something very serious after being hit near the spine, and panic only marginally subsided when he was able to sit up and was carted off the field.
To add literal insult to injury, it wasn't one of the Texans who put Curry down; it was the helmet of Curry's teammate David Hawthorne. Hawthorne's helmet hit Curry in the back, taking him down. Curry had no strength in his leg but was eventually able to limp to the x-ray machine. He's been initially diagnosed with a hip pointer (a bruise to the pelvis), and will likely have an MRI later today.
