A lot of people are debating whether or not the Giants should rest their starters in the most historically significant game of the year. Some believe that they should follow conventional wisdom and rest their starters, like they would normally do. Others claim that they owe it to the rest of the NFL to play the Pats as tough as possible.Since I know you're all wondering what my opinion is on it...I ask you this: Does it matter? This team isn't going to beat the Patriots anyway, unless the Pats rest their own starters. Like Terrell Davis says in the video, this isn't the game to try to get a confidence boost.
The Giants don't owe anything to anyone (except maybe Michael Strahan owes Brett Favre). They need to do whatever it takes to prepare for Tampa Bay. If that means resting their banged-up starters, then do it. If that means playing them all game to try to regain some of their chemistry that seems to have disappeared in recent weeks.
