A Canadian linesman is fighting for life in the hospital after his throat was slashed by a skate blade as he broke up a junior hockey fight.

Kevin Brown had his throat slashed by a skate during the third period of a Junior C hockey game between Woodstock and New Hamburg. The picture here pretty shows you exactly what happened.

Initially Brown was said to be in stable condition, but Woodstock owner Bill McLeod said Brown is "not doing so well now."

Brown has a severed carotid artery. Let's all hope he pulls through.
