Spencer Havner was a standout linebacker at UCLA. After three stints on the Packers's practice squad, Havner was given some reps at tight end in training camp. He made the team as the third string tight end. The past two games, filling in for the injured Jermichael Finley as the team's second string tight end, Havner has caught three touchdowns passes and has certainly earned a bigger role in the offense. Can Havner keep this up or is it just beginner's luck?
its hard to tell this early in his career.
watching him i believe he is a legit tight end.
i think he will turn into a very solid tight end. not the best in the league, but probably top 10 as he gets more and more reps in at the tight end position
i would say yes. he's not as big or as tall as most tight ends, he seems like more of a fullback instead. he is very quick though and seems to get open when you really need him (the Minnesota game for instance). it does seem as though Aaron Rodgers enjoys throwing to him which is good.
