#2 \| 216 days ago bookiebuster (+)	Zito's demise as it turns out is much more than just the case of switching from AL to NL and learning new hitters. His fastball just has no velocity anymore, you cant pitch effectively when your fastball and curve are similar in speeds.

Who cares if a fastball and a breaking ball have similar speeds, that means nothing, although his once 12-6 curveball is now closer to Timex-6. It's the fact that his changeup and fastball are the same speed. It's like bp for anybody going against him.

#4 \| 216 days ago primo (+)	I think Zito will bounce back. I think it's all of the hype that surround Barry since he won the Cy Young. And he seems pretty grounded, so I think with him trying to play humble got him too soft. What he needs is the desire to pitch again and stop being a Zen Master. He's like a John Olerud out there, no emotion. Let him find his groove and the fun for the game again, then we'll be joking about this. If not, Carl Pavano will no longer be the punchline of any pitching joke.
