Just in case this is the last night of the season, I wanted to give you Puckheads more time to talk hockey.

I have to admit I thoroughly enjoyed what I saw of Game 4. Don Cherry A+. More of him = more of me.

There's been a lot of discussion here, and everywhere else about the NHL poor ratings and what can be done. One solution is potentially online video. The NHL has net a deal with Sling Media which definitely has a bright future.

It's also been asked whether NBC should even keep the NHL?

As for the game itself, that big shiny silver mug will obviously be in the house tonight. Despite what you think of the sport, the Stanley Cup is by far the best trophy in Sports.

I'll you guys that actually know a thing or two about the game carry on the conversation in the comments. Is the Cup going to stay in California or will it make another trip back to Canada?

Hey CF, the Wrap-Around tommorow may be a little late, since I'm back in my hometown, and on a lesser cpu (plus, schools over so I'm cashing in on sleep)  Just giving you a heads up.

Won't be around for the live thread, but everyone enjoy the game, it's the final one this year.

even though its 3-1 to the ducks i think the sens will win the next game even though i want the ducks to wrap up the cup, because i think the ducks will play slightly relaxed to how they have been playing, and the sens will go out all guns blazing and think they have nothing to lose but they can only gain so it will be interesting

The TV ratings might be bad, but the games are great.  Also, it might have something to do with the fact that the last 4 teams in the Stanley Cup Finals have all been from small and/or Canadian markets:  Anaheim, Carolina, Edmonton, Quebec City.  I mean no one in the U.S. cares about Canada (or any other country for that matter).  Why should they turn in to a sport with teams from cities they've never heard of?

VERY true - but "choking" is certainly easier when you have the ref's hands around your neck.

OK so Corvo pinches in to get the puck then finesses it towards the corner and he stays at the lower half boards.  This is like the worst possible thing you could do.  He was just asking for an odd man rush the other way.

Whelp... all you folks who said the trophy is going to Canada... well... did you mean 2008? Ducks up 2... Sens have plenty of time, but they need to act quick and get a goal in during the first few minutes of the 3rd. Momentum is key, if they score early and put pressure on the Ducks, they can easily get back in and tie this game up... but we shall see...

Oh god what a weak goal.  Emery really let his team down.

 

As an aside, they really need to do somethign about faceoff interference in the offseason.  It is so rampant that it probably happens on more faceoffs than not.

Well it was a good season.  A lot of good times, a new team name on the Cup.  I'd say overall it was a success.  As long as there are hockey fans like you guys around, the sport will always be vibrant and strong!!  See you all next season and around the site.
