All joking aside, Steph makes a good point. Mike D'Antoni's system includes a blatant disregard to defense. If you take a look at the Celtics and Lakers, it's obvious that defense is an important ingredient in the recipe for a championship.

Obviously that doesn't excuse Stephon Marbury for acting like an idiot, nor does it make the Knicks any less likely to land some big free agents in 2010. It's not like Marbury is the guy that a lot of players look to for advice anyway.

Honestly, if the Knicks do as much as people seem to think that they're going to do in the next year and a half or so, I'm not sure they'll NEED to play defense.

0	Isn't Marbury trying to resurrect his image? Who wants basketball insights from that guy? Anyway, it is true that without LeBron that system is not going to win you championships.

0	Starbury, perhaps for the 1st time in his adult life, is 100% correct about somehting, however Sephon 'Swing an Episode in my SUV' Marbury has -110% credibilty and even if the Knicks fail to get LeBron, if they get Bosh and Michael Redd or Joe Johnson that might still make them contenders and they fit D' Antoni's system.

That may be true, but in the playoffs, not only is scoring important, but you have to get stops. D'Antoni had a monster team in Phoenix and had the same problem. If they didn't outscore you they don't win. Hate to be cliche', but "offense sells tickets and defense wins titles".

1	Go to hell Marbury. Thats why your not on our team anymore. Getting rid of Isiah was our first step . Its just taking longer to get somewhere, but we are improving. True defense sucked last year. A few dozen games would have been won if we could hold off the other team when we were ahead
