Steve Francis Agrees to $30M Buyout to Not Play for the Trailblazers
Just in case you weren't sure, the Washington Post would like to tell you this:

Francis came out a clear cut winner in the agreement reached with Portland on Tuesday.

Steve Francis must feel like he's won the lottery or running like he stole something. He's played very little meaningful basketball over the last couple years, gets traded to the Trailblazers, doesn't play a game and takes home $30 million. Now Stevie Franchise is able to sign a contract with the team of his choosing.

Does Paul Allen have a special relationship with Francis' agent? Or just that much money to throw away for no apparent reason.

Even if Francis eventually lands in L.A. as a Clipper (after the waivers, for the exception), why do the trade in the first place, when Paul Allen could've just bought out Zach Randolph's contract?

Or maybe, Allen only wanted to spend slightly less?  Seems strange to me.
