Steve McNair dead, likely murdered according to new reports
Uh oh. The McNair case is getting quite sordid. But based on everything we know so far, it appears McNair was indeed murdered.
I don't know how far anyone wants to pry into the Steve McNair case (aside from the police of course, since that is their job), but there are some rather sordid details leaking out about the case - involving death threats and roofies. The following comes from the Nashville City Paper, which has been following the case non-stop:

While Metro Police has reported that details are sketchy, NashvillePost.com sources say that at approximately 2 a.m. Saturday morning, McNair was celebrating the holiday weekend at the Blue Moon Restaurant near the John C. Tune Airport.

According to the same NashvillePost.com sources, a white woman in her early 20s, around 5-foot-4, approached McNair at the restaurant and accused him of slipping her a “roofie” a year ago.

The woman then told McNair, according to sources, that her boyfriend was going to kill him.

Roofie is a slang term for Rohypnol, a sedative dating back to the early 1970s that is used in hospitals for deep sedation, but is now a fairly infamous date-rape drug.

Multiple sources have confirmed that this information has been shared with the Metro Police Department. Metro Police has yet to identify the dead woman, but is it unknown if the woman at the restaurant is the same woman found in the condo.

According to Yahoo Sports! the woman found at the scene with McNair has been identified by Nashville police as Sahel Kazemi, whom is being called a “friend” of McNair’s. It's unlikely that Kazemi was the woman who confronted McNair at the restaurant.

It's pretty obiviou that whoever shot him was pretty angry, over kill if you will. I pray for the McNair family as they work through this crisis.  I pray for the soul of Steve McNair and Sahel Kazemi. RIP

We don't know the details of Steve's marriage, so we can't say exactly how sordid it really is.  I think it's safe - and sad - to assume that the more that comes out, the worse it gets for McNair's legacy.

Man that will come as a shock to: Steven Tyler, Rick James, Ted Nugent, all of the Various members of Led Zeppelin, Motley Crue, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Guns 'N Roses, the surviving members of the Rolling Stones and Beatles, as well as nearly every other band anyone has and has not heard of.  Here in fact is a 'pithy' commentary from GNR from the song Sex, Drugs and Rock'n'Roll:
"okay, here's the sensitive part
they told me
that times have changed
'cuz our parents had
Hendrix, Janis and Jim
but what about
River Phoenix and Curt Cobain
and they told me
to praise the Lord
but I've been waiting for so long
for him to call me back
I think I’m gonna go pray
at Betty Ford
and they told me
that life was fair
I can't smoke a plant that was made by God
but I can kill my wife if I’m a football player"

While Pat Boone and Ian McKaye are like to agree to the sentiment you espoused, perhaps the real cautionary part of this may be that you should not party at a airport bar.  There are only 2 good reasons to drink near an airport, if you just got off, or are about to get on an airplane.

More seriously, I do hope that this is resolved soon and not in a way that causes the families involved any additional pain.

Steve McNair was a good QB and a good family man and I for one am not going to believe he could do something like that, He was always a great athlete and an ideal citizen. I love how people and the media always believe everything they hear I mean come on does innocent until proven guilty mean nothing?

Steve McNair's legacy will remain untarnished. He will be inducted into Canton, it that's the end of that. Why so?

Because his personal life was, is, and always will be none of our damned business

Ian MacKaye and Pat Boone...(awesome)....I've been waiting for Pat Boone to cover Fugazi the same way he covered Little Richard

Maybe that is a topic for another poll, but I cannot fathom Steve McNair entering the Hall of Fame.

He'll get the "tragedy boost" in my opinion. Although I think he deserved consideration nonetheless.
