Steve McNair's death ruled to be a murder-suicide by police
Police have now ruled that Steve McNair's death was a murder-suicide

In a press conference today, Police confirmed what most suspected -- McNair was shot by his girlfriend before she turned the gun on herself. While they say they may never know the real reason, Kazemi apparently had financial problems and had told a friend that her "personal life was all screwed up."

It's truly sad McNair lost his life because of the drama of a 20 year old. May he rest in peace. Hopefully now his family will be able to come to peace and begin to move on with their lives as well.

Took 'em long enough.

RIP McNair, too bad you had to pay the ultimate price for screwing around on your wife.

I'm sure the family will continue to search for answers, and rightfully so.  I don't think I would be satisfied with that conclusion if it were my husband, father, friend, or relative.

McNair's brother put it best when he said, "Steve has always been a fighter.  It's just not fair that he didn't have a chance to fight for his life here, because if he did, things would've probably ended up differently."

Note: (that's from memory so it may not be 100% verbatim)

Sadly he didn't have a chance to fight. He may not have much of a chance regardless. A determined and mentally unstable person with a gun is pretty much checkmate. However, he was shot while sleeping so we can only hope he never woke up and never knew what happened.

Yeah I'm not really sure what could've been going through her head to shoot him 4 f***ing times while he was asleep, but clearly a screwed up person who seems to have been someone McNair didn't entirely know.  Tragedies happen every day, but it's a shame it was someone who was seemingly so beloved with a wife and 4 kids.  But when you play with fire, you get burned, and McNair paid the ultimate price.

It's a real sad situation... Who wouldve thought???... She was so young, so much more to live for & to take her own life along w/ someones father, husband, brother, son and/or friends life into her own hands.. Unreal.. My prayers truly go out to his kids... I cant even imagine losing my dad today let alone losing him as a child..

The 37 year old retired NFL star killed by his 20 year old waitress girlfriend once again reinforces the lesson my Mother taught me many years ago:  If you touch the cookies while they're still in the oven, you're gonna get burned...

Again, what a senseless tragedy...

It's always a tragedy when life is cut short, for whatever reason.  Another tragedy is that he didn't think more about his 4 children, or his wife, and not put himself into the situation in the first place.  My prayers are with his family.

So many un-answered questions and speculations with the motives of this murder-suicide, as it has been reported.  What about foul play?
Could it be, someone else made it look like an unstable young lady took this big guy out and herself in the process?

You know other athletes were and or now unfaithful to their wives.
I just hope, that as tragic as it is..,that this is a WAKE-UP CALL, IN YOUR FACE REALITY s*** for those straying away from home.
Remember Magic Johnson? He didn`t die instantly, but you can`t say that in some way he hasn`t died already.
Come on, guys really, is it worth it?
What a blemish to his legacy.
What a dis-tasteful image left behind for the kids, whom adored their father.
I hope that the family will have the courage to move on forward, especially the kids.
And that the negative image left behind by the father could be restored somewhat if not fully.
My deepest heart felt condolences to the wife and kids, the real victims here.

Supposed there was a third party, cause this doesn't make no sense at all. This case need looking into be4 concluding that she turn the gun on herself. Maybe there was a pimp involved and drug included and there was an argument over who is going to pay who. Let us all reason with it be4 judging the death.

No, if you read the article police determined she shot him then herself. They waited for all the forensic evidence to come back and it all supported that conclusion. No one is judging the death, they are judging the fact that McNair wouldn't have been in this situation at all if he hadn't been cheating on his wife with a girl half his age.

this is truly sad, I pray for his family...may they find the strength to make something positive come from all of this.
and may we remember 'air'mcnair for what he brought to the game, and for the positive things he did for others. not just for the way his life ended.

No surprise... the forensics appeared to indicate that all along.  I hate to say it, but McNair, you brought it upon yourself.

You have fame, wealth, and a family, and that isn't enough for some men... apparently it's better to not only screw with a young girl's life but with the lives of those you swore to protect.  No, he didn't think, and now his legacy will always contain a whiff of corruption.

There aren't the role models you're looking for, kid.

McNair is dead because he made poor decisions. He decided to cheat on his wife and kids with a young girl who was obviously unstable, and apparently he had another girlfriend as well on top of her.

Any woman who is willing to enter a relationship with a married man already has problems emotionally. And stringing her along, promising her love, money, and a future together only makes it worse. He didn't deserve to die for what he did, but when you do things like that, you can't be too surprised this is the result. Infidelity is the cause of tons of deaths every year.

Sure he was a great player. I have no problem with people remembering him as a great player. he did good things for charities, sure. But I am sick of people painting him as some sort of family man who was gunned down for no reason. Because that isn't true.

I am glad some one finally told the truth. Mcnair was a great football player and very tough but he was putting on a front to everyone. Why would he have a condo in North Nashville ( not the best part of town ) That  was owned by himself and a friend? He had taken this girl on vacations in the past 6 months and your telling me his wife didn't know about it.

The whole situation is a tragedy but I agree if you play you pay!!!  Isnt that where the saying comes from "What goes around comes Around"?  Morally he broke the rules and unfortunately it ended like it did . We will never really know what he was thinking or her for that matter. I dont agree that this situation was worth taking peoples lives and hopefully he will be remembered for his Football career and may he RIP!   He was amazing on the field, you cant deny that!

One question. She had gunpowder residue on her left hand, but she was shot in the right temple....Doesn't add up.

Serpas said Kazemi shot McNair in the right temple. That was followed quickly with two shots to the chest from about two to four feet away. Then she shot him in the left temple, which Serpas said was a "contact shot" within two inches from his head.

Then she sat next to him on the couch, Serpas said, in such a way that police believe she tried to stage her suicide to fall into his lap. She shot herself in the temple. Police think she fell into McNair's lap, then gravity pulled her to the floor.

The only reports they give on entrance points is for McNair, not Kazemi,

We will miss you Steve. RIP. To everyone we all make mistakes but Steve paid his with his life. There will allways be talk but Steve liked to help people and it sounds like this girl needed help, weather he was involved with her or NOT, He loved his family and I don't believe he was cheating, I believe she wanted him he told her no and she killed him. Steve RIP, Sahel -- Burn baby Burn.

The whole thing is just a horrible sensless case of violence,  yea of course adultry is wrong.  But what she did is unexcusable, and can never be forgiven by taking someone's life away.  Air McNair may he rest in peace, may the good Lord find comfort in his family in a tragic moment, and may this crazy woman rot in hell.

Raider_Dave, I apologize for the profanity.
I`ll try to keep myself in check, next time.
I tend to get heated when this kind of crap [ Can I say that? ] happens. Thanks for looking out.

No worries, just trying to keep the site PG-13.  The site definitely appreciates your contributions though.

Age got nothing to do with love, I'm not saying that McNair is not guilty for cheating on his wife. Some men are dogs, some just can't get enough, some just don't appreciate what they got. But if u go back to read the statement over & over something is not right about the statement. ( The police determined she shot him then herself) was the police men/women there when the incident happened or is there any video to show that, that was what happen, or is it just about he say she say that u believed. Cause something just ain't right about the story. I feel for both of their families. Pls, go back and reread the story over be4 believing or assuming. Thanx
