Remember how we were talking about how disastrous the last road trip was? Well, can you imagine a worse homestand than this one? (The answer is yes. Imagine if the Reds hadn’t come back from that six-run deficit on Monday. They’d be winless on the homestand.) I can’t even fathom [...]
The Lakers haven't pounded anybody. They are lightweights. When they play again Dwight Howard, they're the ones who will be pounded.

Dusty Baker prefers not to 'clog the bases,' but we're big fans of covering all bases this MLB season and that's what we'll attempt every morning from now through September. We'll tweak as we go, all feedback and added contribution in the comments will get you many a thumbs up.

Zito looked like, well, Zito
Never been sold on Barry, myself. He'll be impressive in a fair amount of starts but far too many times when the spotlight is on, does he come up way short. Tuesday afternoon would be one of those times. The $128 million dollar man wasn't dreadful by any means, but totally out pitched by Jake Peavy.

Cardinals looking very UnCardinal-like

On the night the WS rings were handed out, the Red Birds continue to look nothing like that team. 2 more errors to go along with 2 total runs in 2 games. Combine that with the news that Chris Carpenter will miss his next start with some elbow pain and the beginning to the season is in a word: inauspicious.

Too soon to start looking for Bullpen help?
Two nights, two blown leads in Houston. The dud last night was Dan Wheeler who gave up to runs in the 8th to blow a 2-1 lead. Astros 0-2 again the Buccos.

Who Got It Done
  • Ian Snell, PIT -- 6 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 11K Best stuff of the day
  • Kevin Mench, MIL --  2-run game winning HR for the 2-0 Brew Crew. Anyone else always want to inexplicably yell Meeeeench when they see his name?
  • Vlad Guerrero, LAA -- 4-for-4, 2 R, 3 RBI No surprise he's off to a .714 average.
  • Josh Bard, SD -- 4-for-5, 2 R, 1 RBI Solid start for a catcher

Where a simple phone call could mean a death of a soldier. We're here battling the goverment to bring you safely home.We send you reminders of home so you can forget the war just for a momment & remember the loved ones back home. It's a battle ground here at home - when you see a soldier you feel pride but also feel sadness because you can't erase what horror they were thru !! But you don't throw what horrors that you went thru & jump down a throat of a civilian .Being hateful & calling them a coward simply because they weren't there .Making threats to them to kill them.To me that's NOT a Soldier !
