Tarvaris Jackson says that he can still be the Vikings franchise quarterback

Tarvaris Jackson is mired on the bench now for the Vikings, behind Brett Favre. But he still thinks that he has a chance to develop into the Vikings' franchise QB. I'd venture to say that the Vikings think differently, since they trade for Sage Rosenfels AND signed an old man, just to avoid letting Tarvaris take the field this year.

Asked if he still believes he can be the team's franchise quarterback, Jackson said, "Definitely. You always have to think like that. Honestly, just being real, the way things are going, I didn't know I was going to be here. You never know. But I just try to take advantage of every day I'm here."

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the Vikings have zero confidence in Tarvaris Jackson... not now, not ever.
