Albert Pujols is taking his talents to the west coast, agreeing with the Los Angeles Angels on a 10 year deal believed to be worth between $250-260 million dollars.
I think it's a good fit for Albert. A contending team, better weather for an aging body, the DH, a new legacy potential for him and a new bigger base for his charities.
Also better for the Cardinals imo, not being hamstrung with an albatross contract in a mid sized market. In the NL, AP wasn't going to be able to hold up physically for the next 10 years.
While I have lost respect for Pujols in the way he's handled this...specifically playing up how much he wanted to remain in St. Louis and that he had enough money.... I wish him well in his new town.
