The Bears D-Line Must Consistently Hit 'Matty Ice' if They Hope to Win
A Bears Victory Sunday night against Atlanta is contingent upon getting to Matt Ryan.  In short, if they don't hit "Matty Ice" early and often, this could be an ugly game to watch.  The Falcons running game seems to be getting on track with Michael Turner and everyone knows that Ryan can make all the throws.

This task of knocking around Matt Ryan is easier said than done.  His vaunted offensive line has only given up 2 sacks in 4 games.  In addition, Ryan is adept at getting rid of the ball quickly.  If you're not scared enough as a Bears fan, Tony Gonzalez looks like the perfect "safety blanket" for Ryan, and the Falcons just finished embarrassing a 49ers team that should have beaten Minnesota.

So if you're a Bears fan looking for a 1st quarter key as how the game is going, see if Chicago can make life uncomfortable for Ryan.  If that doesn't happen the Bears will need to force several turnovers if they hope to win this game.  It is a contest that will be an early season measure as to whether the Bears are one of the elite teams in the NFC.

If the Bears put aside the TWO distraction, they should be fine, but dont count out the Falcons. They're a good football team.

All the Bears have to do is put a damper on the gunslinger and play good BEARS football, then there should be no problems until the Super Bowl.  Good running game, good sound defense and put the gunslinger on HOLD.  Lets let Lovie or the offensive cord. make the calls.

If the Bears don't put pressure on Ryan, this could end up being a 38-35 type game.  Jay Cutler is going to think it's Christmas all over again when he sees the Atlanta secondary.  Unless they make some immediate adjustments, of course.

The closer Sunday gets, the more excited I get.  This is going to be a helluva game.

Go Falcons (and Go Giants; You know, for the NFC South tie between the only two good teams in that division).

I don't want to play the old-school "Bears" football anymore. We have one of the most explosive quarterbacks in the league.  Let's throw the ball.  I'm with you on the defense, Walter.  It should be exciting.

If they worry about the passing game too much, Turner will run all day on this defense.

If anybody thinks ( as I did) that Gaines Adams might play tomorrow, he'll be inactive this week.  Darn.
