The Cubs' Reed Johnson and Rich Harden file for free agency
I consider Reed Johnson to be a pretty darn good player, but is he worth 3 million dollars, and with Lilly's surgery, should the Cubs consider keeping Harden? These and other tough questions need to be considered before next year.

I would make every effort to keep Johnson, but harden is too frail.

Harden was healthy all year, but his stats are nothing to laugh at. I think they are going to let Gregg walk. He's a major disappointment! I'm on the fence about Lilly, Harden, and Fox. It would be interesting to see what the Cubs will do with them. They better keep Grabow. He's a bonus for our pitching staff.  Keep Johnson, and get rid of Fukudome. Fukudome's a bust in his 2 years with the Cubs.

I wouldn't sign Harden to a long term deal...too many injury concerns.  Let Gregg walk.  Johnson is ok, but he can be replaced.

I would really like to see them keep Harden but he is injury prone too. He's a great pitcher when healthy. Reed Johnson is great at defense but I won't miss his bat too much. It will be interesting to see how the Cubs do in free agency this season. I can't wait. Go Cubs!
