The Dodgers Show They Haven't Really Improved Much Since the Manny Ramirez Trade, Lose Again [MLB Wrap Up]

The Dodgers Show They Haven't Really Improved Much Since the Manny Ramirez Trade, Lose Again [MLB Wrap Up] PhotoSince Manny Ramirez was traded to the Dodgers, he has been hitting as well as ever. In 26 games, he is hitting .375, with 7 HR and 23 RBI. But in those 26 games, the Dodgers are only 11-15. Their most recent loss came to the Nationals, an 11-2 blowout, despite a 2-run HR from Ramirez.

Christian Guzman hit for the cycle, going 4-5 with 2 runs and 3 RBI. Elijah Dukes homered twice, and drove in 4 for the Nats, who have the worst record in baseball.

Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw was shelled once again, giving up 5 runs in 2+ innings, to pick up his 5th loss. Kershaw was a highly touted prospect for the Dodgers, but he has been highly inconsistent, and hasn't provided the Dodgers with as many quality outings as they would like.

----- Other MLB Games -----
AL:
Yankees 3, Red Sox 2 - Jason Giambi went 2-2 with 3 RBI to help the Yankees avoid being swept in the final Red Sox-Yankees series ever to be played in Yankee Stadium.
Rays 3, Blue Jays 2 - The Rays got all of their runs off of HR's by Cliff Floyd and Willy Aybar, and Edwin Jackson allowed only 1 run in 7 innings to pick up the win.
Angels 7, Rangers 5 - The Angels scored 5 in the 8th and came back from a 5-1 deficit to win it. Juan Rivera's 3-run pinch hit double was huge, and Torii Hunter went 3-3, and scored twice.
Athletics 3, Twins 2 - Kurt Suzuki hit a walk-off RBI double in the bottom of the 9th inning.

NL:
Astros 3, Reds 2 - Ty Wigginton homered twice, and Humberto Quintero also homered for the Astros, who scored all 3 of their runs off of solo HR's.
Braves 4, Marlins 2- Brian McCann's 3-run HR was the difference maker for the Braves.
Cubs 6, Phillies 4- Much like the Angels, the Cubs scored 5 runs in the 8th inning to get the comeback win. Aramis Ramirez hit a grand slam for the Cubs, and the Phillies' bullpen wasted an excellent outing by Cole Hamels.

----- MLB News/Notes -----
Some kid falls out of the stands at a Mets game trying to snag a BP HR (with video).

Josh Beckett's injury could be more serious than we thought.

Jose Guillen almost flipped out on a fan. Unfortunately, he had enough self control to hold back.

Hank Steinbrenner is more of a d-bag than his father ever was, doesn't realize that if HIS company that is putting out an inferior product, then part of the blame must lie with HIM.

Streakers - In case any team tries to make history, I'm going to list the teams with the longest active winning and losing streaks. Today's streakers:
Indians: 10 wins
Pirates, Dodgers: 7 losses
