The Fall Of The Big House Of Michigan
1
by Eric Galko
The phrase, "Oh how the mighty have fallen" doesn't quite sum up how the Michigan Wolverines have gone from feared home game to just another road game. In the days of "Bo", Michigan losing a home game would be on CNN...

This article is a waste of time. Michigan's home record was NOT good last year, and they have lost some home games, but the Wolverines can still go 7-1 at home this year, with wins over Purdue, and OSU.
The problem seems to be road games, where Michigan is truly having problems. The Wolverines are 0-3 so far this year, and only one 1 road game last year, winning the Little Brown Jug @ Minnesota.
The record @ the Big House could have been better the past few years, yes, but the Michigan home record will start to be much better after the team starts getting better, starting with home games in 2010 against UCONN, UMASS, Bowling Green in non conference play. Also, UM gets MSU, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Illinois at home next year.
Now, as for the Bo era...remember 1975.? UM tied two games at home, 1979, 1981, 1984. 1987.? UM lost two home games each year. NOW, i know that's not like losing 6 home games, as the Wolverines did in 2008, but that was a transformation of coaching staffs, from Carr, and the traditional Michigan pro-style offense, to the Rodriguez  staff, and the spread. And, as i stated earlier, UM is 5-1, with a chance to go 7-1.
Also, in 1994, Gary Moeller's Wolverines went 3-3, not good.
One other thing that i believe will help future UM teams...the remodeling of the Big House. When the construction is finished, and the sky boxes, and new press box, and the luxury suites are done, Michigan Stadium will be nearly enclosed, allowing 110,000+ screaming Wolverine fans to have a HUGE impact on the visiting team.
Fret not, Michigan fans, the wins will come.
Go Blue.!
