Last season Shawn Williams broke Colin Doyle and Steve Toll's streak of 189 straight games, and on Sat. Jan. 26, 2013 he will be playing in his 200th straight match. This 16yr veterans who is 38yrs old does not just take a spot up on the team trying to compile stats in his later years. no he is the Buffalo Bandits' leading scorer so far this season. His streak started on May 11, 2000 and dei gratia he will be able to continue this streak for years to come.

Williams attributes much of his successful lengthy career to the everlasting support he receives from his wife and his kids, and of course, his parents.

“It’s huge, without a doubt. If you don’t have family support, it makes it tough leaving every weekend,” he said. “My family, from parents to my wife and all my kids are my biggest fans.

“They’re always watching if they can get down to the game, if not they’re always watching on and YouTube now. They’re definitely always rooting for me and they don’t want it to end just like I don’t want it to end."

If you do not watch or follow lacrosse's NLL or MLL you are missing a great sport. Hopefully one day we will be able to have a lacrosse bar on FANIQ so we can follow the matches cheering for a great sport which is growing more and more in North America.
