The Mets may play some regular season games in Puerto Rico in 2010

The Mets might be playing some regular season games in Puerto Rico next year. What happened to the last team that did that?

The Mets are trying to schedule regular season games in Puerto Rico this year, 6 years after they played the Montreal Expos there in 2003 and 2004.

The Mets have a strong Puerto Rican presence on their roster, and Major League Baseball is hoping to capitalize on that. My only concern is for their opponent, whomever that may be.

Last time the Mets played in Puerto Rico, they played the Expos. A few years later, the Expos are in Washington, paving their way to "worst franchise ever" status. Good luck to whichever team gets the misfortune of playing the Mets this time. Hopefully they fare better than the Expos did, long-term.

2	This seems like an idea whose time is come. Baseball is so huge in Latin America, and MLB is always looking for ways to pump up revenue. Why not a team in San Juan or Mexico City?
