The Dolphins planned on releasing Joey Porter today, but due to some random rule, he cannot be released until at least next month, and was a Dolphin once again three hours later. The rule was that his "salary cap acceleration exceeded the space that Miami had at the time, and will remain on the roster. In English: Releasing Porter now would make his cap hit $4.8 million, leaving the Dolphins $600,000 above the current cap.  The new, uncapped NFL season will start on March 5th.
