"The worst Super Bowl QB since Eason." SI gets a head start.
READ MORE:
Don Banks waited little time in putting Rex in his place.

Not a big Rex Grossman fan. Not at all.

The Bears won the NFC title game in spite of their struggling starting quarterback. Not because of him. I'd even go as far as saying Grossman -- in his current incarnation -- is the worst Super Bowl quarterback since guys like New England's Tony Eason and Miami's David Woodley made the big stage.

You guys know I'm not a very big fan of Rextasy, but even I consider this a little harsh. While harsh ... it may be accurate. I'll admit I even low balled him coming into the playoffs, I thought he'd make that crushing mistake. He still made bad throws and mistakes, but nothing to create the loss.

Eason was atrocious. Grossman has a better arm than a lot of QB's. Who would you compare him to?

Despite what the media would have us to believe, there actually is MORE than 1 player on each team.  Actually 11 players are on the field at any one time.  Not just the QB.

Right, but he's talking about the quarterback right here ... who would you compare Rex Grossman to of past QB's?

Better or worse than Hostetler?

I honestly don't know the answer to the question I am about to pose, but how many QBs have led their team to the Super Bowl in their first FULL season? Does he have his bad games? No doubt, but when he's on, he is certainly better than guys like Hostetler, Rypien, Stan Humphries, Dilfer. I know you can't just ignore his bad games, but that is what you get with a guy of his inexperience.

Interesting question. I still think you have to put Big Ben ahead of Rex as it was only in his second year with similar amount of starts. While Rex hadn't played a full year he's had a couple more years of film study, etc. Real good question though ... I can't think of anyone in recent times or I guess I can't think of anyone that actually won the game.

No doubt he's growing.

I'd call him better than Hostetler.  Grossman with great blocking is good.  But I suppose any QB with great blocking is.

Kurt Warner, Dan Marino played a half season in 1983, and in his 1st FULL season lost a Super Bowl a t the end of the '84 season

I compare Rex to Dilfer. Both of their teams have good defense. Neither QB is good enough for the probowl. Both try to do what they can to help their team win without making mistakes. Dilfer has the edge though because he already won the superbowl. When Rex is on there's no contest. Will he be on in two weeks? We'll see....
