There are no sure things in a draft

Seattle SuperSonics executive Lenny Wilkens said it on Tuesday when the NBA draft lottery was held. So did members of the Statesman Journal sports staff as we watched in the office. So did pundits across the country. Everyone, it seems, is saying "Can't go wrong." As in the Portland Trail Blazers, who have the No. 1 pick in the draft and the Sonics, who have the No. 2 pick, are guaranteed to get a superstar -- either Ohio State's Greg Oden or Texas' Kevin Durant. They just can't lose. These guys are too good. The Northwest is back on the map in the NBA (at least until the Sonics move to Oklahoma City or Kansas City).
