Thrashers Need New Faces To Get Involved As They Head To St Louis
But for that to happen, the new faces for the Thrashers need to be more noticeable.
In the Thrasher's opening game, the offense was explosive and fun to watch, just like they were advertised. But for most Atlanta fans, it was the same-old,same-old: All Ilya Kovalchuk.
Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed that display by Ilya. Especially since they won (oh, and I have him on my fantasy team too). But I was really excited to see these new additions get involved. Especially Nik Antropov. He played well. Good ice time, had good looks, and played physical. But I want to see the post light up.
Tonight I want to see Pavel Kubina, Mark Popovich, Maxim Afinogenov (who played well in game one), and last year's #1 draft pick Evander Kane make their presence a little more obvious.
With these guys getting more touches and effecting the defense, it will only free up more opportunities for Kovalchuk, and make my fantasy team that much better (not important, but it doesn't hurt, right?).
St. Louis appears to be for real so far. So the boys better come to play. This will be an entertaining game, if nothing else.
