To tell you the truth, I really don't think Tebow cares where he will get drafted. He just wanted to get the season over so he can go do his missionary work and come back next year to play Gator Football. Did you honestly think that Tebow was going to pass up his senior year and give up the final year of his education to play in the NFL? The fame and money is no importance to him.

5th round pick makes more than a College student.

And you just had to use the picture of the one moment in his life where he's done something wrong.
/ Thom Brennaman

Seriously though, smart move.  He's not doing anything in the NFL.  Might as well win another title before going to the NFL where he can disappoint every single one of his fans.

A friend told me Tim would be going back to school for another year.  This friend is never wrong.

Yeah, and since Tebow won't be playing much in his future NFL career, what a great opportunity his Senior year is for all of us.  A college football game is around 2 1/2 hours and since Brennaman thinks 5 minutes with "Timmy Sunshine" will change our lives, think of the people we all can become.  My life lacked direction and then Tim Tebow arrived and it was all better.

I am glad to hear Tebow is coming back for his Senior year! Atta boy Tim! The haters will always have their negative things to say about this young man no matter what we, the non-haters say or what he accomplishes. Keep on hatin' because this man will go futher in life and make more money than any of you. I am looking forward to the 09-10 season! Go get another Heisman, Maxwell, Davey O'Brien, ESPY, National Championship and your degree Tebow!!

I'm not a Gator fan, but how can you NOT like Tebow. I mean just for what he does in general. He puts his life and what he does as a person ahead of football. Football is important to him, but not as much as being a motivational speaker and doing his missions in whatever country he is in. Pretty cool story, my mechanic's son happens to be best friends with Tebow. Last year, Tim took him with him on his missionary trip (I've seen pictures) and I'll tell you, there is nothing fake about him. Everything that you see him do, is real. All of it. I think the reason why alot of people keep hatin' on him is because they are jealous. Come on, one of the best players in the country, a man that puts others first instead of himself, and a man that TRULY cares about the outcome of his actions and doesn't (EVER) put blame on anyone else, he only just tries to make them stronger..... If you don't like him or wouldn't want him on your team, you're f****** nuts.

What round was Tom Brady taken in?  Not that Tebow will be like that but again does it matter?

The guy has 2 Nat'l Titles with a good chance of a 3rd & a great chance at another Heisman.

why do we care so much about what he is gonna do in the pros. i could care less about what a college player does when he gets into the pros. a college player should not be down graded just because of what they may or may not do in the next level. who cares if tebow goes to the pros and plays poorly(that may or may not happen). he is one of the greatest college players to ever play the game, regardless of what he does at the next level

You are so right Anthony. I think you got it correct by saying it is a jealousy thing. People keep saying things like Tebow, the Gator Nation, the media, think he is greater than life. No, I do not find him greater than life, I believe what he has done with his life is great.

and just to add, more of todays youth should follow his example. You can be "cool" without the need of putting yourself in possible bad positions. If there were to be an athlete that my son looks up to, I hope it would be someone like Tebow. GO GATORS!

I think it's hilarious. Tebow haters LOSE. You LOSE and can't stand it. He's gonna come back and because of that Gator defense that will lose ONE starter (maybe! Spikes will likely declare) and Rainey, Demps and a more mature O line he will likley hoist a THIRD NC trophy. ///////////////////////////////////// You need the money. ///////////////////////////////I would take the money. ////////////////////////Tebow DOESN'T CARE ABOUT THE MONEY...lol....Hh- uhhh..... LARIOUS!

MY take: and yes I am a Tebow Fan: He is probably one of the smarter ones. I am sure the big money is an attraction, but I am surer of something else..He realizes there are other things in life, he realizes the NFL may not be all its cracked up to be and that he may not be a good fit there, so before he goes there, AND HE WILL GO THERE, he wants backup, much like ya want on the football field. His education is the backup he needs!!!!
He is slow out of the pocket, he isnt the most accurate passer, but he has more damn heart than I have seen on a field in a long long time! And sorry, but heart..well, it can take ya a long long way!!!!!!!!!

And , I am going on the record now...and taking all comers for the bet...Tebow will be right back in the hunt for both the Heissman, and the National Championship next year!!!!!!!!!!  ANY TAKERS????????????

He isnt an NFL QB(at least today) for some of the reasons I posted above,,he is slow out of the pocket, his accuracy is questionable, but he can scramble with the best of them, and he sees the whole field...who knows, another year with Myer and all the - may become +!!

I love Tebow as well but like Kiper said the next spiral he throws will be his first.  That shit won't fly in the NFL.  But again who cares?  The guy is one of the GOAT in college.

Tebow lovers make me sick.  He's no better than anyone else who has no NFL future who stays in the college.  Just sayin'.

I agree being a fan of another SEC school I really have looked for ways to dislike him but he is a class act. It is impossible with the spot light he has for him to fake what he appears to be. That being said I was hoping he would go pro on one hand, being a fan of another SEC school, but felt if he did it would take away from his character.

The reason he stayed:  Cue Richard Gere from Office and a Gentleman, "I've got nowhere else to go!".  He got a bad report about his draft status and stayed.  The number one reason people go to college is to be able to go our and make money after college.   Staying in school to finish over making millions is ridiculous, one can always go back and get a piece of paper.  It's easier to fulfill your life's dreams with money than without it.

While you may think it's rediculous, some people like Tebow can give 2 craps what you think. You might be greedy for the money, Tebow doesn't care. He does missionary work. Have you done any missionary work? When you do missionary work, you don't stay in fancy hotels and live an extravagant lifestyle. TEBOW DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE MONEY......

With that money he could do more of what he had done all of his life.  It's like turning down a McArthur grant, it doesn't make sense.  This decision only makes sense in the light that he got bad draft report.  Unless you are saying that playing football for UF is missionary work somehow.

Tebow certainly does care about money, as someone is paying for those missionary trips.  He can do a lot more of what his god wants him to do with the money, than he can without it.

Like I said before, it may not make sense, but everybody thinks differently. What may not make sense to you, may make perfect sense to someone else.

University of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow is coming back for his senior season. And although Tebow is apparently not valuable enough to NFL teams to jump ship after another national championship, there's still a whole lot of future that Tebow is risking by stepping out on the field for another run without a payday.

So I called Keith Lerner, whose Total Planning has insured hundreds of college players throughout the years. Lerner is based in Gainesville, Fla., which has helped him insure about 20 University of Florida players in recent years.

Lerner said he'd recommend that Tebow take out $5 million in insurance. It's not the maximum a college player has ever taken out, but it's probably the coverage Tebow could get. "I'd say he can get $3 million against the loss of NFL income if he got hurt," Lerner said, "and then another $2 million in off-the-field coverage."

It's not like Tebow would lose all of his endorsement and autograph potential if he gets hurt while playing next year, but there would be loss of value and he probably can't become the greatest college player of all time without another Heisman or national championship to his name. Lerner said $5 million worth of coverage would cost Tebow about $50,000.

Or .he has watched what some of the idiots have done over the years (like shooting themselve in the leg etc), or blowing out a knee, and having NOTHING to fall back on. And then there is a little thing called INTEGRITY..maybe looking that word up should be your next move!

You do realize that if Tebow never played another down of football PERIOD, he would still rake in tens of millions in endorsements EASILY if he so chose to

I don't know about that, what is Danny Wuerfell endorsing?  Tim has no value unless he's playing football.  Maybe he can endorse Gainesville Ford.

Again, his decision only makes sense in the light that he has no where else to go to play football.  He got a bad draft report.  Is he staying at Florida to take missionary classes?  If that is so important, that is what he should be doing.

If we are going to laud any athlete for selflessness and doing what he believes in,  sacrificing his best interests for what he values most, the list begins and ends with Pat Tillman.  Until Tebow makes a similar gesture, only then we can laud his selflessness.
