The Timberwolves probably drafted as many point guards as the rest of the league combined this year, and in their defense, they traded Ty Lawson, and Johnny Flynn might actually be the real deal. But that still doesn't really make it any smarter of them to take Ricky Rubio, especially since they pretty much knew they wouldn't be able to sign him. Or at least they SHOULD have known. Now, they're doing everything they can to trade his rights to any team that might want Rubio... in 2-3 years, at least. We'll see if they have any luck with that.
Rubio is not a 1st round draft pick. Unless its towards the end of the draft. That kid is still raw & I don't see many PGs from Europe coming here & being able to play at the same level. Tony Parker has been the only one so far. Besides him who else???? Rubio is raw & when he does come here he won't be worthy of a starting spot.
I'm sure the Knicks would offer them a first round pick for him, if Isiah hadn't traded all out first rounders through, like, 2018. And if Isiah were still in charge, he would give them 2 first rounders.
