The T-Wolves reportedly turned down an offer from the Knicks which would have netted them Wilson Chandler and the 8th overall pick for the #5 pick. The Knicks would have grabbed Ricky Rubio, and the Timberwolves could have grabbed Stephen Curry, and then still had the chance to get Jonny Flynn at #8, since the Warriors were not interested in Flynn at all.
Minnesota's starting lineup, if they had made that trade would have looked like this:
C: Al Jefferson
PF: Kevin Love
SF: Wilson Chandler
SG: Stephen Curry
PG: Jonny Flynn
Not too shabby, right? And the ceiling would be ridiculously high, as well.
So... why did they not do this?
