Tom Brady says that he is not able to influence calls

Joey Porter was pretty vocal about his opinion that Tom Brady's whining to the referees has had an impact on the officiating, and leads to him receiving beneficial calls.

While I firmly believe that Porter is just out of touch, it seems like Brady might be a little in denial, as well.

"You may get more calls. I don't know. I think the ref calls what he sees. I don't think I've ever influenced a call. The refs we have are very good. If they make a call on that, great. If they don't, that's fine."

For starters... if you can't influence a call, then why even try? Don't give the appearance that you're trying to influence the refs.

Second, it's crazy to think that future Hall of Fame caliber players are unable to influence officiating. It has happened all across sports for decades. That's not going to change.

 The one thing I find is that the athletes never learn from their mistakes of shooting their mouth off. Thats alright tommorow will shut porter up after new england gives the dolphins a now super stomping for trash talking

There's no doubt that HOF players get calls.  In the 90's if you breathed near Michael Jordan, that was a foul, if you coughed near him, that was flagrant.  I'm sure Tom Brady is playing the media a little bit.

Why can't you let all that money get banged around?  On the SAME DAY that Brady cried about somebody "brushing" up against him, Tony Romo took, not one but TWO, helmet to helmet shots (against Denver) and NO FLAGS were thrown at all, then Romo took two more the very next week (against Kansas City). Also a few games prior to the "Brady Bawling", Donovan McNabb took a vicious hit to his lower back AFTER he had already scored! Once again- NO FLAGS!!!  Porter was absolutely correct in his assessment- that "some NFL Darlings" DO GET special treatment by the Refs!  This kinda BS crap needs to stop. If not, lets just put ALL NFL QB's in Black Skirts, High Heels, and Pink Flags to pull instead of hitting them..... just my thoughts....

To be fair, he never said that he couldn't influence a call, rather that he is "unsure if he's ever influenced a call."

Still, we all know he knows that he has a moderate amount of power over the officiating and that he does get the benefit of the calls, just like most of the QBs who aren't built like linebackers in the league.

Like i said before... Hall of Famers DO get preferential treatment... in ALL sports. McNabb, Romo... not Hall of Famers. Brady, on the other hand, is a mortal lock. They're in completely different categories.

Ummm, I do understand what you are saying but WHO GIVES A CRAP who Tom Brady is??? Seriously!  Brett Favre doesn't get that kind of treatment and neither does Peyton Manning or Ben Roethlisburger- all of whom WILL be in the HOF as well!  It doesn't matter what "category" Brady falls in to- he is STILL an NFL QB currently wearing a uniform and playing! He should NOT get any special treatment nor should he whine like a little b%^ch when he doesn't!  As I said, TAKE OFF THE SKIRT AND PUT ON SOME SLACKS!  And people wonder WHY so many want to see Brady get his head knocked clean off his shoulders everytime he takes the field.... Deep breath, Vinnie. I never said it was right... I'm just saying that's what it is. Just like Michael Jordan got all the calls when he was a player, and Greg Maddux usually got the benefit of the doubt when he was pitching on the corners. Is it right? No, not at all. But it is what it is.

LOL, Brady is also the big influence on the "Tuck Rule"!  LMAO     Yet another BS "rule" that ONLY is enforced (or very rarely enforced) if Tom Brady is involved!  HOF credentials or not, special treatment should not come to any player......
