Tracking young big men through the NBA pre-season
You can't teach height but you better teach footwork: a review of young big men this pre-season
You hear it so often you just assume it must be true: Point guard is the toughest position to learn in the NBA. Well, it certainly is the most cerebral position, with the most information to absorb and the most responsibility for setting the pace and tone of an offense...

Well, how about the big men? Not so easy either, especially considering the lack of high-impact big men coming into the NBA in recent seasons.

What are your takes on young bigs like Brook Lopez, Greg Oden, Hasheem Thabeet and Roy Hibbert? Who among these will take the next step this season? Who do you want on your fantasy teams?

Same thing with B.J.Mullin of the Thunder. He should've stayed in Ohio State for another year. His decision is going to come back and bite him.

I think Hasheem Thabeet will be this year's ROY, Blake Griffin will have a hard time with the Clippers, Thabeet on the other hand is on an up and coming Grizzlies team that in my opinion will be competing for a championship in the next five years. It's hard for me to ignore a team with so many young studs and a couple of seasoned veterans to help them grow into better players.

The Grizzles will need 5 basketballs to play each game this year. 1 for Iverson, Mayo, Gay, and 2 for Zac Randolph because he will eat one of them thinking it was cake, and the Grizzles will finish near the bottom of the league.

Thabeet has no chance at being ROY. The ROY race will be between Blake Griffin and Johnny Flynn.

Thabeet reminds me of Emeka Okafor. He can't really score. He can block and rebound. Dejuan Blair owned him at Pitt and he was just a 6-8 PF, with a 7' wing span. So a big body can neutralize him easily. Blake Griffin should have little trouble crossing over and he's not fighting for the ball as much.

Or once Sterling fires Dunleavy and gets a coach in there that will just open it up and let that team try and score 120 points every night like they should.

yes the clippers have a roster full of young talent. they made the playoffs a couple years ago and then just went backwards . i agree it's the western conference and they could really put some points on the board, if coached properly.
