Tracy McGrady is still a leading vote-getter for the All Star game, showing the problem with fan voting

Short of a miracle, Tracy McGrady will end up starting for the Western Conference All Stars, over guys like Steve Nash, Deron Williams and Chris Paul, thanks to a bunch of fans who completely delusional and have lost touch with the NBA. At best, they're biased enough that they are voting for T-Mac just because he's on the same team as Yao Ming.

McGrady has played 46 total minuted this year, and is one of the reasons why some people think that an overhaul on the fan voting process is needed, like Golden State Warriors coach Don Nelson.

"It's a little embarrassing when they vote people in that haven't played and stuff like that. But a lot of people just vote for the biggest name, and they put a check mark on a name that they recognize."

What do you think? Do fans still deserve the right to pick the starters? Or have they just screwed up too badly over the years?

For that matter, the All Star game is all about the fans anyway. Does anyone really care that much? Let the fans have what they want. If they're stupid enough to vote for someone like T-Mac, they deserve it.
