The way I see it...horses are fickle beasts, and as many sports commentators pointed out "before" the Belmont Stakes was run horses do not like being out of the elements in which they are use to.

 

In all 5 of Big Borwn's previous races, he never had a situation where there was a horse "directly in his  racing lane. He never had to move around, get position, and then use his speed.

 

At the Belmont, Da' Tara ran out quick, moved over directly in front of Big Brown, and when Big Brown moved up on Da' Tara, Da' Tara kicked him in the chest. I think the race for Big Brown was over at that point, and I don't think he wanted to race anymore. It is like the old saying...you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.

An animal is an animal, but Kent does his job better than most.  I didn't realize what an a-hole Dutrow was.  I lost a lot of money on that race and I am angry he pulled him up but he wasn't going to win anyways.  Da'Tara was like a machine on that day!

Of course it wasn't the horse, says the guy responsible for training the horse! It had to be the jockey. Dutrow is a Grade-A douchebag.

Griffey hits #600, and of course the top of the sports section has that (insert about 5 minutes of expletives here, including what I called him to his face after listening to him yap on and on at an event I was at) arrogant SOB Dutrow trying to pin the blame on someone because he couldn't keep his mouth shut and now he's been smacked in the face.  I say we take one of Junior's bats and shove it up Dutrow's piehole until it comes out his mouth.
