For a company that fired Steve Stone for being overly critical of the Cubs, this shouldn't surprise you in the least.
Via Sports by Brooks, Steve Rosenbloom noticed a not so subtle adjustment to Jeff Samardzija's blog:
Sounds like somebody got to Jeff Samardzija, and not just opposing minor-league hitters. In his blog entry for June 7, Samardzija was writing about how the Cubs moved him to the bullpen at Single-A Daytona because he was so bad as a starter. That day, a particular part of his blog included the line: "I cannot lie: I want to be a starter, so I am not too crazy about the move." Sullivan reported on it. But after my blog was posted, sharp commenter Brett noted that Samardzija's words changed to "I cannot lie: I want to be a starter so I am going to do whatever it takes to get back to being a starter." Still wondering why.
The Tribune Company has yet to edit the Rosenblog, but we can assume that's forthcoming.
