UNLV vs Colorado
The Rebels (26-8) finished third in the Mountain West Conference, a game behind co-champions San Diego State and New Mexico. While UNLV had good wins over Cal, Colorado State, New Mexico and San Diego State, their best win came back in November, when they upset then-No.1 North Carolina. UNLV's leading scorer and rebounder is sophomore forward Mike Moser, at 14.1 points and 10.6 rebounds per game, but their most dangerous player might be sharp-shooter Chace Stanback. Stanback averages 12.7 points a game, and hits 46 percent of this three pointers, so the Buffaloes can't afford to leave him open.
The Buffaloes (23-11) finished sixth in a weak Pac-12, but got into the NCAA Tournament by winning the Pac-12 Tournament. Frankly, the Buffaloes' resume isn't very impressive--they didn't beat an NCAA Tournament team in non-conference play. Still, Colorado is very athletic, and has been hot lately, so they are definitely dangerous to UNLV. Sophomore forward Andre Roberson averages a double-double with 11.6 points and 11.1 rebounds per game.
