USA curling team finished second in the Duluth Curling Club Tuesday night league
This might explain why our men's curling team sucks so hard
READ MORE:
The US Men's Curling team has been pretty horrible during these Olympics, even though they won bronze in Turin. Team captain John Shuster has been a tremendous choke artist - to the point where he was benched for a game - and if you type in "USA Curling" on Twitter, all you'll see is a litany of swears.

So what happened? Why is our curling team so bad? This might answer the question. Almost everyone on the team is from Duluth, Minnesota - and guess what? - your US curling team representatives in Vancouver didn't even win the Duluth Curling Club's Tuesday Night league. They came in second.

So there you go. Our curling team in Vancouver couldn't even win a Tuesday Night League, meaning some fat guys in Minnesota somewhere are who should actually be representing us.

LOL! Now that's funny! So, basicly if you curl and have the money to make the trip, you're in? For the USA? Wow. I think it might need to go the way of Barrel Jumping. Anybody remember that sport but me?

They won the national championships though, which was the vetting process for the Olympics. However, it's not a good system, because they essentially are a pretty good team that had a great weekend a few months ago.

I'm Canadian, I watch Curling all winter long ;) I know a lot of the players on a lot of the teams, having watched them in other tournaments.

"Typical American response!"  (posted by CutterTML)

I'm sorry...didn't mean to seem a boor...I was just teasing Debi (JrCanuckfan), who I've "visited with" before. I live in a place where it's hot and humid most of the time, so winter sports such as curling are a mystery to me. I didn't mean to come across as truly critical of your country, or even winter sports in general. To each his own, and I'm sure you could have a ball with some of our "Texas customs"!

I started watching, don't know why, but I like it.  I am still confused but the Danish women definitely make it worth watching.  Kidding aside, its like Cricket, I am too American to understand the scoring.

Cricket is MUCH more difficult to understand. Curling rules are basically similar to Bocce or Shuffleboard. I think I understood most of the rules after a couple days of watching.

It might just be the distraction of the Danish women.

Doesn't look like it, but I don't see how that could be very surprising.

i wouldnt be surprised if there were none. i just wanted to ask :)

* not to be racist just trying to be funny... but seeing as how lots of black people are janitors, this could be a good sport for blacks. basically all you are doing is taking a broom and sweeping away ice from infront of an object moving. voila!! dont know about yall but at my high school 90% of the janitors were black

I don't think they are really better then us in baseball, soccer? A bunch of guys chasing a ball around, OK I guess it;s a sport, they are running after all.
