I really hope the Chiefs don't draft him!  He can go to the #1 or #2 teams, but please not the #3 team in the draft!!!!!!

Do you really think Sanchez is worth a number 1-3 spot?

I'm guessing when he saw Bradford was staying it made his decision considerably easier.

What QB would you like the Chiefs to draft?

With Bradford and Tebow staying in school, his stock won't get any higher than right now.

You seriously giving up on Cutler?  He's got some issues, but I still have no doubt that he's going to be a top 10 (probably even better) QB for a good while.

Well....  I'm hoping that since the Chiefs got Pioli, maybe there's a way we can get Cassel too!  That's probably wishful thinking......

I think all the NFL teams should consider talking to each other about letting all QB's drop to the 2nd round to save money. none of these guys are worth big money..

Absolutely true, dude.  I hated the Alex Smith pick from day 1.  I saw "system QB" and knew right then he was doomed.

It should be a lesson to all, but some team will still screw up and do it again.  I honestly think Detroit should go O or D-Line first, maybe even trade the #1 for two or three late rounders and start building from the inside out.  NOBODY trades the #1 pick anymore because they don't want to be the team to pass on a potential Hall of Famer.  The problem is that most teams that earn the #1 overall pick have a lot more issues than one position is going to fix.  It'd be refreshing to see someone have the grapes to trade out of the top spot.

Coming out early benefits Sanchez financially, because some team is going to draft him too high and overpay him.  Whether it's smart or not remains to be seen.

That's funny, but collusion is illegal. :)

Might be wishful thinking, but I like the way that sounds.  I thought the Pats were going to slap the franchise tag on Cassel?

Cutler will do great with McDaniels there.

The Chiefs could use a QB or 2.

No Jay Cutler please - Yeah the Pats will probably slap the franchise tag on Cassel, but whether or not they can afford him with the salary cap is another story.  I mean look how stupid we were last year - slapped a franchise tag on Jared Allen only to trade him for some draft picks and we end up with a new league record of fewest sacks in a year.  I don't think the Pats are as dumb as we were though

personally, I think you guys should give Thigpen a little more opportunity to play. that was only his second season in a terrible offensive system and he did alright. the only guy he could really depend on is of course Tony Gonzales. get him some new weapons and develop that young defense and I think KC will be pretty decent.

I agree with your statement about Thigpen, but after that I am kind of worried.  They signed Quinn Gray, but I think that was only a 1 year contract and its Quinn Gray?!  Yesterday, they signed QB Ingle Martin? to a contract.  Who?  Ingle Martin?  OK.  Croyle was a bust...and Huard is probably gone.  But...since the Chiefs are hiring a new management staff, this can truely be a rebuilding year.  They can worry about a QB next year when McCoy and Bradford graduate.  This year, they can worry about O-Line and a couple weapons on offense.  Tony G isnt going to last forever.

Jared Allen didnt get along with Carl Peterson....BIG SURPRISE!!!  But yeah, it would be nice to get a QB like Matt Cassel.  But like I said in my previous post.....they should probably worry more abotu the O-Line and a couple weapons to help out Thigpen short term.

Disclaimer: Yes, I'm slightly off-topic but how about the resemblance between Sanchez and "Entourage" star Adrian Grenier. Hollywood looks and major game. I'd wish him luck if I thought he needed it.

Well, yes we do need to worry about our O-line and we also need a pash rusher, but without a good quarterback everything else is moot.  The quarterback is what holds the team together and we certainly cannot rely on our defense to score us points and without points we cannot win.  A good quarterback is essential to any NFL team if they have any hopes of making the Playoffs.

It's kind of tough for a QB to be essential to his team when he is constantly running for his life.  As a Chiefs fan for about 25 years, I would like them to be better overnight.  But since thats not going to happen, why not start from the bottom and work your way up.  Having an O-line that can block is essential to any NFL team that wants to move the ball whether that be running or passing.  When the Chiefs had Roaf, Shields, Wiegmann, and Waters together, they moved the ball all over.  Priest Holmes/Larry Johnson were rushing for 1500 yards+.  That took a lot of pressure off the QB because defenses had to respect the run.  Thigpen played well this year, but imagine how well he would have played had the running game been consistent.

As for a pass rusher, I agree.  Hopefully, the young guys that are playing now will mature and grow into their positions.  Not too many rookies come out of a place like Idaho State and perform like Jared Allen did in 2004.  Carl Peterson was very lucky with that 4th round draft pick.  I'd like to have a team full of Jared Allen or Derrick Thomas types, but thats not going to happen.

All that being said, I am really interested what Scott Pioli does with this team.  The Chiefs have a young owner and young general manager who want to win now.  What moves will they make?  Will they try to improve this team quickly by signing free agents and making trades, or will they start from the ground up and change everything.  Whatever they decide, I'm 100% sure it will be much better than the Herm Edwards "Wonder" years!

Most likely knowing Bellichick they are going to put the franchise tag on Cassel for the year just to make sure Brady, is Brady, but hey maybe he'll go to Cleveland.. LOL...
